Ahhh... hello frog pond. Long winter, no see.
Tess left her phone charger at my house and was leaving on a trip to california, so I drove it up to her. Plus.... drumroll...SADIE'S HERE!
She's one of my roommates from way back in my college years. The college year that included living in Anchorage, Alaska, to be precise. She has visited many times, but not in the last five years, so we needed to go see my Mom and siblings too.
And all of her visits in the past have been in the winter, so she had never experienced my favorite little watering hole. Which looks a little swampy at the moment, but wait until the cattails grow and then we can officially call it a pond again. Right?
Mom discovered a new trail through the woods and wanted to share it with us. She also pointed out all of the tiny natural wonders that she has been watching for the past months. Things like leaves, tracks, scat, dens, branches... she's a true mountain woman.
Emmy was greatly taken with the flora.
Jonah was more into the fauna.
This is Jojo heaven.
Another event has taken place which may change the Christensen family forever.
The driveway is now passable in a two-wheel-drive vehicle.
They went to Costa Rica for a week and the "worker guys" worked on it while they were gone. For a solid week. This is a breakthrough.
All of these photos were taken by Sadie with her camera, which is why she's not in any of them. Except for this beauty:
One of the items on her list of things to do in Utah was to go to The Pie Pizzeria and get a 23" pizza. Which we did! It. Was. Huge. This photo does not do it justice. We had 6 adults and 5 kids eating from this thing, and we only cleared half of it.
The next morning she joined us on our annual spring time trip to the local petting farm. There were animal babies galore!
Not this one. He's full grown.
But check this little llama out! Isn't he totally cool?
One ride around the paddock is included with admission, but Jonah squeezed in two rides because he wanted to go again without me walking next to him. Then he wanted to go 11 more times (his number) but, alas, twas not to be.
Emmy was patiently waiting her turn in "The Almanzo Wilder buggy!"
Somewhere in our early american studies she got confused, and when speaking about the early settlers/pioneers she refers to them as 'americans.' She'll correct herself afterwards, but it always comes out first as "Look Mom, I'm an American!"
Claire was wearing a little gingham dress today and she said "Oh Clairey, you're the cutest little american baby!"
send help.

HAHAHA! Ok this makes me incredibly homesick. The pond looks great! And where is the petting zoo? Why did we never go there when we were little? What a jip.
We did go there once, to ride horses with the cousins. It's Carver's Cove! We can go when you're here, Cam.
I love pioneers as Americans!
Ok, I am just going to come out and say it...Can I please please please go to Jojo's house some day?? I am so in love with all the posts about Jojo's. In my mind it is a magical place where all good things happen! And that is exactly as Grandma's houses should be.
