Breakfast time

Biscuits and gravy again? Oh yes, but not just any biscuits. These are limited edition Emmy hand pressed cookie cutter delight biscuits. Get 'em while they're hot! Can you spot a dinosaur, a christmas tree, a blob, a dog, an airplane, a fish, a duck, and a dump truck? Can you tell what else is there (cause I can't) Hey, if it gets the kid to eat her breakfast, we'll do it:) Bon Appetit'!

The Polar Express!

My dearest beautiful friend Becca gave us tickets to ride the polar express! Caleb and Emmy had a great time - Emmy just ate it up. (Jonah isn't well, so he and I stayed home) The little elf on the left is Kate, my friend's daughter. Isn't she the cutest elf ever?! Emmy loves her. Caleb said that when Santa boarded the train at the North Pole Emmy was beside herself with excitement:) He gave her a special bell with a green ribbon, and she hasn't been without it since.

We woke up to 6 fresh beautiful inches of frozen fluffy bliss today! She's been out there for a long time now...

Happy Halloween!

Jonah is a cowboy at the moment, but that's not what he's going to be for halloween! Here's my little giraffe from the behind. Is that the cutest thing you've ever seen?! There's my little prophet Jonah Not sure if you can tell, but he's sitting in his whale sleeping bag, and I'm supposed to be the ocean:)

Harvesting our meager crops:)

We have been busy harvesting! Emmy, it turns out, is a huge raw-corn-fan, as she chows down on her second ear. Good thing we picked plenty; Caleb and I still got some dinner.  My first attempt at tomato plants was... well I'm not sure if it was a success or not. The plants reached galactic proportions, but here you see red tomato number ONE for the year. At this rate we'll be eating fried green tomatoes for months.

Our pumpkins did well! I planted one seed at the corner of the house, but it decided to take over the driveway as well:) 

Also, they're in the shade above, but you can kinda see our beheaded sunflowers - we just picked them! With a machete!Are you seeing the size of these things?! And the two largest ones are already inside!! And look at how many seeds are inside! They ought to last us a while. 

I like growing things that get really big - it's good for morale. I won't show you my cucumber plant that got... 2 inches tall? And my hollyhocks that are supposed to reach 6feet that are just now deciding to grow. I think their internal calendar is off. Or maybe I don't have a clue what I'm doing and it's a fluke that anything in my garden grew at all! That's much more likely. 

It's the simple things in life

I know it's not that big of a deal, but while Em was brushing her teeth (or playing with her tootherbrush, you decide) I braided her hair! It's so stinkin cute, and maybe I'm the only one who thinks so because I'm her Mom and I'm in love with her, but that's alright. When you spend all day with two tiny people, strange things begin to amuse you...

Amateur Kite Flying

Emmy has discovered how to never get discouraged because your kite won't fly. Just fly a baloon instead!

"Is your little girl part-hispanic?"

Now I understand why people ask me that. Emmy, noticing our matching barefeet today, said "Mommy! The same toes! No... white toes and brown toes."

A normal Family Photo

This is as close as we got to a normal family photo:) Saturday afternoon we loaded into the topless 4Runner and headed for the hills, saw some incredibly beautiful places and views and had a delicious gourmet dinner of PBJ's and fruit snacks a-la Jayne. I think I'll make this photo my profile picture...

"Mommy! The Same!!"

I have to be so careful these days about the kind of person that I am, because no matter what I do, she wants to be just like me! Talk about pressure!

Here's Proof:

Everyone has heard the old tale of how the only child reacts when a new baby intrudes on their territory, and it's true that Emmy had her doubts about this little man when he first arrived, but this photo is a true life story of how Emmy has decided that maybe he's not so bad afterall. He's extremely attentive to all of her stories and dancings and singings and she is enjoying sharing her favorite books with him.

Why do they grow so fast?

Jonah is growing like a weed! He weighed 7lbs. 10oz. when he was born, and at his 2 week appointment he weighed in at 9lbs. 5oz.! He's getting a little more used to the whole idea of being alive in this world, and is a pretty happy little guy (as you can see). We are one happy family, and certainly happy that he is here with us at last.

Winter Play Time

We buried Emmy, them went zoom on the 4 wheeler then sent Emmy zooming down the driveway and then went for a walk. Made for a mighty good family night. (and Emmy slept good too).
